Hospitalist Services

Our Commitment:

The term “hospitalist” refers to a specialty physician who focuses on providing care for patients who have been admitted to the hospital.

When you are admitted to Bloomsburg Hospital, our hospitalists work very closely with you and your primary care doctor to design the best possible course of treatment. Your hospitalist coordinates your care throughout your stay, remaining in constant communication with your primary physician.

Convenience:

Hospitalists typically spend most or all of their workday in the hospital, and thus can be more readily available to a patient than a doctor who spends much of the day outside the hospital in an office or clinic setting.

Upon discharge you will return to the care of your primary physician. When you leave Bloomsburg Hospital, your hospitalist will send your records to your primary doctor. Your hospitalist will also help coordinate your follow-up care and prescribe any medications you need to take when you leave the hospital. Your primary care doctor will take care of refills if necessary.
