Columbia Montour Home Health Services/VNA recently announced that it has been named one of the 2008 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the most successful Medicare-certified home health care providers in the United States. This is the second year in a row that CMHHS/VNA has received this prestigious award.

The annual HomeCare Elite review, which is released in December, identifies the top 25 percent of agencies, ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance. The data used for this analysis was compiled from information available to the public.

“The 2008 HomeCare Elitewinners exemplify a commitment to providing their patients with optimum care while performing at the highest level,” said Nancy Buller, Senior Director of Marketing Communications at OCS, Inc.  "We congratulate Columbia Montour Home Health Services/VNA on being one of the top home care agencies in the country."

Jane Gittler, Chief Executive Officer at CMHHS/VNA, credits patient care and financial discipline with the company’s ability to rank as one of the HomeCare Elite. “Better patient care leads to better financial performance, and better financial performance leads to better patient care,” said Gittler. “We strive to achieve the best in patient care and prudent use of our money, and receiving this award for the second consecutive year is a true testament to our efforts.”

A member of Bloomsburg Health System, CMHHS/VNA was established in 1967 to deliver a full spectrum of homecare services. The goal of CMHHS/VNA is to restore the health and independent functioning of acutely ill or convalescing individuals.
