7th Annual Rod & Custom Cruise-In
The Flames ‘R’ Us flamethrower club puts on a hot show Saturday night during the Annual Rod & Custom Cruise-In.
Over 750 cars packed into Bloomsburg Fairgrounds during the 2009 show.
Bloomsburg Hospital will be hosting their 7th Annual Rod & Custom Cruise-In, August 13, 14, & 15 at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. The gates will be open from 8am to 10:00pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am to 6pm on Sunday.
Last year’s show hosted over 750 registered vehicles and nearly 4,000 spectators.
“We have so much more planned for the weekend this year,” says Fran Ashby, director of development at Bloomsburg Hospital. “With all of the giveaways, raffles, contests and camping, as well as the children and family oriented events, there’s something for everyone at this year’s car show.”
Throughout the weekend spectators can enjoy vendors, crafters, a swap meet, food, ice, famous “theme basket” raffles, 50/50 drawings, and bingo.
Special events on Friday include FREE admission for veterans and scouts, a Pinewood Derby race, stereo contest, neon light show, Moonray Magic Prom with DJ Wolfman Jack impersonator, and a live performance by Pan.a.ce.a.
Saturday afternoon features a kid’s workshop by Home Depot, HotRod Gridlock – a parade through downtown Bloomsburg, an autograph session with Andy Bolig, editor of Corvette Enthusiast magazine, slow drags, muffler raps, a hot wing eating contest sponsored by Quaker Steak & Lube and live music by The New Individuals.
Saturday night entertainment will include more live music by The New Individuals, a burn-out competition sponsored by Numidia Raceway, and, back by popular demand, a flamethrower exhibition by the Flames ‘R’ Us flamethrower club.
On Sunday, in addition to the trophy presentation and $1,000 cash grand prize – only car registrants are eligible and must be present to win – there will be a classic car auction. In conjunction with the Orangeville Auto Auction, the classic car auction is open to everyone. After the show, car registrants can receive free admission to the Numidia Dragway and one free pass on the drag strip.
Spectator admission is $5.00 per day and children under 12 get in Free.
