Description
A clinically competent therapist who provides coordination of the multidisciplinary team's patient care. Possess the ability to interact with the Hospital and Community population. Functions as a member of the inpatient treatment team in assessing patient needs and abilities and developing treatment plans to facilitate improved patient functioning/symptom resolution.
Provides assistance to patients and their families in coping with the emotional impact of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse. Provides individual, family, couples and group psychotherapy as deemed clinically appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned by Psychiatric Unit Nurse manager, Psychiatric Unit Medical Director and Psychiatric Unit Program Director.
Hours
Hours are from 8am to 4pm Monday thru Friday. Includes rotating shifts as needed and potential weekend hours.
Experience
Educational requirements include a Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology or other Human Service related field (licensure preferred).
Experience with Mental Health patients and/or in acute psychiatric setting preferred.
Must possess excellent communication skills to deal effectively with patients, family, hospital employees and the public.
CAC credentials preferred.
