The Patient Service Representative quickly and accurately responds to the needs of patients, visitors and other hospital staff. The Staff registers patients into the hospital computer system at either the Patient Registration area or in the Emergency Room.

Staff accurately obtains information and documentation from the patient or their representative. The Staff ensures the requirements of the patient's insurance carrier are met prior to the delivery of service.

The Staff is aware of their role in ensuring a positive patient experience within the hospital. The Staff also answers phones and directs calls and or visitors to the appropriate area as requested.


Hours are every other weekend from 7am to 7pm. Scheduled weekday shifts are mostly from 3pm to 7pm with some shifts from 3pm to 9pm. Scheduled shifts will accumulate to 40 hrs. every two weeks. Other hours and holidays scheduled as needed.


Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
Two years in healthcare access or financial services, from either a provider or payor perspective.
Excellent interpersonal communication for interacting with patients, visitors and coworkers is essential for this position.
