Description
To assist in determining the appropriateness of admissions, readmissions, continued stays and resource consumption based on established clinical standards, medical necessity and age specific criteria. To identify care management standards and provide direction to physicians in the required care paths. To conduct and/or coordinate Medical Audits as required by PA DOH regulations. To initiate and coordinate case discharge planning. To monitor and respond to regulatory and payer inquiries regarding retrospective or other case reviews. To provide case management services to assigned clinical areas during assigned work and/or on call hours.
Hours
Hours are from 8am to 4pm or from Noon to 8pm. Other hours are as needed to cover department's schedule.
Experience
EDUCATION: Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania or Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Social Work or health-related field.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of three years acute care hospital experience. One year of current and active experience in the area of utilization review, case management or discharge planning.
