“…We, citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, … moved by a desire to make further and better provision than now exists for the relief, care, medical attendance and treatment of the sick and infirm poor … in the county of Columbia, and especially in and about the Town of Bloomsburg, have associated ourselves for the purpose of founding and maintaining a hospital…”

— from the Charter for the commission of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital first opened its doors to patients on September 11, 1905, answering a pressing need for health and wellness care in the community. It was originally located on the corner of Fifth and Spruce Streets until 1928 when a state of the art hospital and nursing residence were built on the current site.

Since then, Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital has undergone three major renovations to continually meet our goal of providing the highest quality care and personal service, while offering you and your family the most advanced technology available. Our 72-bed Hospital can meet 90% of the healthcare needs you may have during your lifetime. From preventative medicine to full surgical care; obstetrics and maternity to geriatrics; simple lab tests to MRI and full CT Scan - we're here for you just when you need us.
